In April Sue and I doggy sat in Rolling Hills for our client Sandy. She has 2 dogs; Honey a mixed terrier and Sammy a playful huge yellow lab. Sammy has an attraction to the pool in the backyard and loves to take afternoon dips. We would find ourselves running after Sammy before he’d run into the house soaking wet. Sammy also loves to steal your shoes. Sue had taken off her sandals and Sammy quickly nabbed one and took off! It’s a game now called “get the shoe”. Another funny occurrence happens between Sammy and Honey. Honey is a bold little female terrier and Sammy is a huge yellow lab, now picture Honey on top of Sammy’s back. Yes, they do the doggy hump. Honey somehow manages to balance herself on top of Sammy’s back rodeo style. It’s a bizarre picture and Sammy doesn’t really pay any attention to it. That’s domination for yah! At night the dogs like to sleep in the bedroom with us. Sammy sleeps on the floor and Honey at the foot of the bed.
Joey and Phoebe
Last month we sat for a client in Garden Grove who has 2 Jack Russell terriers, Phoebe and Joey. Jack Russell’s have amazing agility and are able to jump several feet in the air. We got a great example of that when we played chase the hose water in the backyard. One evening while Sue was bringing Joey back into the house, Joey wiggled out of his collar. We spent the rest of the week trying to get Joey to let us put his collar back on. The owners had told us that Joey has a collar issue but we could not believe how stubborn he was about it. Any time you tried to put his collar back on he would growl at you. Sue even got bit trying so we decided to give it up and let his parents put it back on him. Other then the collar phobia, Joey and Phoebe were little angels. We also had two kitties’ to keep our eyes on. One kitty was very shy and would never come out from the back bedrooms except at night. The other kitty (a Tortishell ) was the total opposite and very friendly.

Staring into a TV camera, I say, "Istanbul is one of the world's great cities, period. For thousands of years, this point, where East meets West, has been the crossroads of civilizations. Few places on earth have seen more history than this sprawling metropolis on the Bosphorus."
